An incident being described as possible road rage, resulted in Jerome Benesh, 73 years old, of Canton, GA being arrested.  Reports of multiple shots being fired following the air show resulted in no injuries.

Reports to the Floyd County Police Department, initially were someone firing at vehicles as they were leaving the Air Show at Richard B. Russell Airport.  It was reported that Benesh received incorrect information about the timing of the air show and frustrations with the heavy traffic leaving. Benesh left on GA 140 and 53.  He was pulled over, but proceeded to drive away.  Eventually Benesh stopped his Jeep and exited with his hands in the air.

Police reportedly found multiple revolvers inside of Benesh’s Jeep SUV.  Benesh was arrested and is currently at the Floyd County Jail.  We will report more information as it becomes available.
